Fr. Vincent W. Bryce

Diocese: Diocese of Grand Rapids MI
Ordained: 1957
Status of Accusation: Accused

In April 2002, a man came forward and accused Bryce of abusing him during his childhood around 1977. The complaint was lodged with the Dominican Order’s Chicago office, who then informed the Diocese of Grand Rapids where Bryce was employed. As a result, Bryce was promptly removed from his position and sent back to the Order’s headquarters. It appears that Bryce confessed to the misconduct, which took place in an undisclosed state. While it was reported that he resided at St. Louis U’s Jesuit Hall, the Catholic Directories indicate that he actually lived at St. Dominic Priory in St. Louis from 2003 until at least 2017. Shockingly, Bryce’s name was included on the Chicago archdiocese’s list in October 2022 and was also mentioned in the Illinois Attorney General’s Report on May 23, 2023. The report specifically mentions one survivor who reported abuse during the early 1970s at St. Vincent Ferrer in River Forest, IL.
