Fr. Walter J. Lezuchowski

Diocese: Archdiocese of Detroit MI
Ordained: 1959
Status of Accusation: Accused

In 1991, the archdiocese took the decision to prohibit Lezuchowski from serving in parish ministry due to credible allegations of sexual abuse against a girl who was over the age of 16. He was sent for treatment to address these issues. However, in 2002, another criminal complaint was filed against him. Surprisingly, it was discovered that Lezuchowski had been actively ministering at St. Ronald’s in Clinton Township for the past five years, unbeknownst to the archdiocese. As a result, he was immediately suspended and ultimately permanently banned from ministry in 2005. Lezuchowski passed away on December 29, 2006.
