Fr. David E. LeBlanc
Diocese: Diocese of Grand Rapids MI
Ordained: 1961
Status of Accusation: Accused
In January 2007, LeBlanc made the decision to resign from his parish after confessing to Bishop Hurley that he had committed abuse against a young boy back in 1971. This accusation had been brought to the attention of the diocese in 1993, and at that time, LeBlanc had admitted to it. Surprisingly, Bishop Rose took no action in response. However, it was not until January 2007, when the bishop reviewed personnel files, that this matter was brought to light. Then, in April 2019, a man came forward publicly, stating that LeBlanc had molested him at a Caledonia parish in 1999, when he was just 12 years old. Unfortunately, due to the statute of limitations, no legal action could be taken.
