Fr. Gary Schulte

On 10/29/11, Schulte was stripped of his duties at St. Sylvester’s in Warren after being accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with a 16-year-old boy back in 1991. This incident occurred while Schulte was employed at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in Madison Heights. A review board determined that the allegations held enough credibility to impose certain limitations on Schulte. However, no criminal charges could be pursued due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. Consequently, Schulte’s name was added to the archdiocese’s list on 6/10/19, and he was permanently barred from participating in public ministry.
