Fr. Loren O’Dea

After concluding a career in social work, Fr. Loren O’Dea was ordained in 1993. Recognizing his senior status as a retired priest, he was granted this title in 1997. Serving as an associate pastor at Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington, his tenure was cut short on 10/12 due to two complaints of abuse that were reported, dating back to the period just before his ordination. These allegations were deemed “substantive” by a review board, prompting the involvement of the sheriff’s office. He passed away on 10/14/15 at the age of 87. It is worth noting that his name was included on the archdiocese’s list of individuals who have been credibly accused, a designation that was made on 6/10/20.
