Fr. Thaddeus Ozog
Diocese: Archdiocese of Detroit MI
Ordained: 1956
Status of Accusation: Accused
In November 2018, the archdiocese publicly identified Ozog as an accused individual. Prior to this, a man had come forward on two separate occasions, three years apart, to report that he had been sexually abused by Ozog when he was a minor. The archdiocesan review board conducted an investigation and found the allegations to be credible in 2018. Ozog, who held the title of monsignor, had been assigned to various parishes in Detroit, Birmingham, Waterford Township, Wayne, Flat Rock, and Hamtramck. He had also served as a teacher, registrar, dean, and rector at Sacred Heart Seminary from 1959 to 1975. Ozog passed away in 1994 and was later included on the archdiocese’s list of individuals who were credibly accused on June 10, 2019.
