Fr. Lawrence T. Fares
Diocese: Archdiocese of Detroit MI
Ordained: 1950
Status of Accusation: Accused
Originally hailing from Kobayath, Akkar, Lebanon, this individual embarked on a journey to Rome where they were ordained. Their path eventually led them to the United States in 1969, where they dedicated their efforts to the Detroit archdiocese. It was in 1977 that they were officially incardinated, solidifying their place within the religious community. After faithfully serving for many years, they retired in 1997. However, their peaceful retirement was disrupted in 1/21, when the Archdiocese Board of Review deemed credible allegations of child sex abuse, dating back to the early days of their priesthood. These distressing allegations had been reported to the police and were brought to the attention of the archdiocese in 7/19. Consequently, they were added to the archdiocese’s list of accused in 1/21.
